New plantings, weeds removed

Australian Ecosystems was awarded the contract to remove the Surfcoast’s designated weeds from the 8.14 ha of common property and the typha from the waterways. This is still ‘a work in progress’ but the typha is now well under control as is the weed removal. Last week 1,000 new plants planted around Weirs 1, 3 and 4. Further planting will occur in early Spring and it will include indigenous and native plants with a lot more colour which are currently being grown in the Australian Ecosystems nursery. These areas will also be mulched in early Spring.

The expenditure of these funds is required to meet the obligations of all lot owners under their 173 agreement which are to remove invading plant species and restore the native and indigenous landscape to the area.
